Natural Bridge State Park is a stunningly beautiful and unique natural area in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky. The park is home to the largest natural sandstone arch east of the Mississippi River, the iconic Natural Bridge. This sandstone bridge spans 78 feet and stands 65 feet tall. The bridge was formed over millions of years by the erosion of the Red River, and it is a truly impressive sight to behold.
For an unforgettable view of the park, you can choose to hike to the top or ride the Natural Bridge Sky Lift. Either is an experience not soon forgotten. Once at the top, take your time and enjoy the views from both the top of the bridge and from the overlook.
I like to visit the top of the bridge first. Take your time and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape as you walk across the 30 foot wide bridge high above the forest. It is a truly memorable experience.
Now, to my favorite place, follow the trail to the overlook. You'll be treated to a panoramic view of the park, including the natural bridge, towering cliffs, and lush forests. The overlook is the perfect place to snap some photos(I could spend hours doing this), as well as just sit and take in the scenery. It's also a great spot to watch the sunrise or sunset. On the day I was there, I spent a long time watching the fog roll in and out.
Overall, Natural Bridge State Park in Red River Gorge, Kentucky is a must-see destination for anyone who loves the outdoors. With its stunning natural beauty, it's the perfect place to spend a day exploring and enjoying all that nature has to offer.
